DFW AACC Intern Scholarship Program and APPS Scholarship Program
DALLAS – DFW Asian-American Citizens Council (DFW AACC) will kick off its 2016 Intern Scholarship Program for North Texas Asian American college students with a workshop on Sunday, December 20, 2015.
In recognition of a desire to encourage Asian Americans to become active participants in public service and government affairs, DFW AACC created the Intern Scholarship Program to provide assistance in the intern application process. Selected students who have been accepted into intern positions will be awarded a scholarship.
The program will focus on D.C. internship positions with the White House and U.S. Congressional Members. The internship session under consideration will be the Summer 2016 session, with application deadline in early 2016. Applicants are required to be U.S. citizens and to submit a complete application for the internship position. North Texas Asian American college students are encouraged to contact DFW AACC to indicate their desire to participate in the program.
DFW AACC is also collaborating and in support of the 2016 Asians for Political Public Service (APPS) scholarship program initiated by DFW chapter of the Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement (APCA). The APPS scholarship encourages college students of Asian Pacific heritage to pursue a career in political and public services, and aims to increase involvement of the Asian community in political affairs. APCA will also provide mentorship and networking support from community and corporate leaders. For more information, please go to http://www.apca-dfw.org/870-2/.
